Deputy President Kithure Kindiki made an unannounced visit to Gikoe ESP Market in Mathioya Constituency, Murang’a County, to assess the progress of its construction. The market, currently at 80% completion, is expected to be ready for occupation by traders in the next five weeks.

Next week, President William Ruto is set to embark on a comprehensive tour of the Mt. Kenya Region, where he will commission, inspect, and launch various development projects. The visit, DP Kindiki emphasized, is not politically motivated but a fulfillment of the President’s pre-election pledges to the people of the region.

DP Kindiki underscored the importance of national unity as a cornerstone for economic and social progress. He urged against divisive interests that could isolate the Mt. Kenya Region, noting that its people are enterprising and have a presence in all parts of the country.

The government is actively engaging in diplomatic efforts to save Margaret Nduta, a Kenyan from Murang’a County, who is at risk of execution in Vietnam. The administration remains committed to protecting its citizens abroad.
