A New Dawn at Inooro FM as Jeff Kuria appointed head of Radio Takes Amid Major Programming Shifts.
For 18 years, Jeff Kuria has been the voice that woke up thousands of listeners every morning on Inooro FM’s breakfast show. His warm, engaging presence and deep connection with the audience have made him a household name in the Kikuyu community. Now, Jeff is stepping into a new role, one that will shape the future of the station he has called home for nearly two decades. Jeff Kuria has been promoted to the position of Inooro FM’s head of radio, taking over from Wanjiku Wa Gitonga, who has held the role with distinction.
This promotion marks the beginning of a new chapter for Inooro FM, as the Royal Media Services-owned station embarks on a sweeping restructuring of its programming. The changes, set to take effect on Monday, March 10, 2025, aim to refresh the station’s lineup while staying true to its roots in serving the Kikuyu-speaking audience.
One of the most notable shifts is the reassignment of Nyoxx Wa Katta, the beloved host of the popular *mugithi* show. Nyoxx will now take on a new role, hosting a Sunday morning praise and worship program from 10 AM to 1 PM. This move is expected to bring a spiritual touch to the station’s Sunday lineup, offering listeners a soulful start to their day.
The *Ngogoyo* show, a Sunday staple hosted by Kamau Wa Kang’ethe, has also seen changes. The show will now run for an additional hour, starting at 1 PM and ending at 6 PM, giving fans more of the music and banter they love. Meanwhile, Jeff Kuria, in his new capacity, will host *Kiririmbi Kia Inooro FM*, a one-hour political show every Sunday from 6 to 7 PM. This program promises to delve into pressing issues affecting the community, offering insights and sparking conversations.
Inooro FM’s weekday programming is also getting a refresh. Njuguna Wa Wairimu, a fan favorite, is making a triumphant return to the *CuaCua* show, reuniting with Karwimbo Mukurino for the 4-8 PM slot. Their chemistry is expected to bring back the magic that made the show a hit in the past. Additionally, Joy Wa Macharia and Jomo Nyathira will take over the *Kuihuria* show from 2-4 PM, bringing their unique energy and perspective to the afternoon slot.
The station is also welcoming new faces. Former Muoroto FM presenters Wakarindi Wa Ndiithi and Kairu Wa Ndeiya are joining Inooro FM to host the *Thiririka Show* from 10 AM to 1 PM. Their debut is highly anticipated, as they bring fresh voices and ideas to the station.
As Jeff Kuria steps into his new role as head of radio, he carries with him the trust and support of his colleagues and listeners. His journey from breakfast show host to station manager is a testament to his dedication and passion for radio. The changes at Inooro FM reflect a commitment to innovation while honoring the traditions that have made it a beloved station.
The Inooro FM family and its listeners eagerly await this new era, confident that under Jeff’s leadership, the station will continue to thrive and resonate with its audience. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh voices, and the enduring power of radio.
