CS Energy promises to connect remote Kiambu villages with power

The remote villages Kiratina and Gikumari areas in Ruiru, Kiambu County are set to get power connection after decades of darkness.

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi who visited the two villages to launch the power connection initiative noted that the area is the remotest in populous Ruiru constituency and the county at large.

The CS said work has already commenced through the Rural Electrification and Renewal Energy Commission (REREC) and other relevant agencies.

Wandayi, accompanied by area MP Simon King’ara also divulged that the ministry will carry power connections to the entire Kiambu County at no cost to the residents.
