Former Thika Town MP, Eng. Patrick Wainaina, popularly known as Wa Jungle, has unveiled a new political outfit, *The National Party (TNP)*.
Wainaina, who ran as an independent candidate in 2017, defeated Alice Ng’ang’a, a close ally of President Ruto who ran with the Jubilee Party.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, while wishing Kenyans a happy Jamhuri Day, Wa Jungle urged citizens to register as party members.
“The party’s ideology is anchored on *Uwazi na Kazi* (Transparency and Work),” Wainaina stated, adding that he serves as its Party Leader.
He outlined the primary objectives of TNP as eradicating corruption and impunity, with a focus on inward economic empowerment to drive Kenya’s economy. “*Consume Kenyan by choice*,” he emphasized.
The former MP also called for deliberately promoting local consumption over imports, stating, “We should only import essential economy generators like oil, machinery, and transport vehicles, and avoid consumer goods that can be produced locally.”
Wa Jungle, who previously contested the Kiambu gubernatorial seat but lost to Kimani Wamatangi, emphasized the need for a self-sustaining economy that creates job opportunities at all levels.
“Let’s change Kenya together, Champion Anti-Corruption and Economic Empowerment,” Wa Jungle urged.
Kenyans interested in joining The National Party can do so by dialing *509# and using the Party Code: 051.
