Nakuru, Kenya – President William Ruto today officially commissioned the Lanet Regional Hospital at the Kenya Military Academy in Nakuru County, reaffirming the government’s commitment to universal, quality, and affordable healthcare for all Kenyans.
The state-of-the-art 150-bed facility will provide specialised medical services, including intensive care, renal dialysis, and advanced surgical procedures, serving Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel, veterans, their families, and the surrounding civilian community.
Speaking at the inauguration, President Ruto highlighted the government’s healthcare transformation agenda:
“Our ongoing expansion and modernisation of medical infrastructure across Kenya ensures that no citizen is left behind. Every Kenyan deserves access to world-class healthcare, and this facility is a testament to that promise.”
In a landmark move to integrate military and civilian healthcare, the President also launched the Ulinzi Prime Health Services Fund, enabling civilians to access medical services at KDF facilities.
This initiative bridges the gap between military and public healthcare, optimising resources for greater national health resilience.
