
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to transformative programs aimed at uplifting the economic and social status of Kenyans.
Speaking during a consultative forum with Kiambu County leaders at his Official Residence in Karen on Monday 10th February 2025, the Deputy President emphasized that the government’s initiatives are aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
He noted that following the achievement of macroeconomic stability and increased agricultural productivity through policy and administrative reforms, the government has shifted focus to deliberate programs designed to raise household incomes across the country.
“These initiatives include the Affordable and Social Housing Programme, creation of job opportunities both locally and internationally—including digital jobs—value addition in agriculture and livestock, the mining sector, and robust infrastructure development to support the revitalization of value chains,” said Deputy President Kindiki.
To ensure accountability and track progress on the commitments made during County Economic Forums, the Deputy President announced that the government will organize annual consultative engagements with leaders, stakeholders, and professionals
These forums will assess the implementation of government programs and help identify priority development projects tailored to each county’s unique needs.
During the meeting, leaders reviewed ongoing and proposed development projects in Kiambu County, focusing on strategies to enhance service delivery and economic growth.
The forum was attended by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Members of Parliament Ann Muratha (Woman Representative, Kiambu), Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), Machua Waithaka(Kiambu Town), Mburu Kahangara(Lari), Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika Town), Simon King’ara (Ruiru), GG Kagombe (Gatundu South), Elijah Njoroge Kururia (Gatundu North), John Njuguna Wanjiku(Kiambaa), Maina Karobia (Member, East African Legislative Assembly), alongside Members of the County Assembly and grassroots leaders from Kiambu.
The Deputy President underscored the importance of such consultative engagements in fostering inclusive development and ensuring that government programs address the real needs of the people.
