The third contingent of 217 Kenyan police officers deployed to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) has safely arrived at Port-au-Prince Airport, Haiti. The officers, who departed Kenya on January 18, 2025, were warmly received by Haitian authorities upon their arrival.
Accompanying the team were Mr. Joseph Boinnet, Deputy National Security Advisor and former Inspector General of the National Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, and Mr. Ranson Lolmodoni, SAIG and Commandant of the General Service Unit.
In its Facebook post, the Ministry of Interior and National Administration wrote, “We thank God for His protection and journey mercies. Our additional contingent of Police Officers arrived safely in Haiti, where they joined their brothers in arms from Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, the Bahamas, and Belize for an interdenominational service.
The Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission, headquartered in Port-au-Prince, is an international operation led by Kenya 🇰🇪 authorized by the United Nations Security Council to assist the Haiti National Police in restoring peace, law, and order amid threats of criminal gangs and violence.”
The remaining 400 officers are expected to join the mission in the coming weeks. The National Police Service extends its best wishes to the MSS team as they undertake this important international policing assignment.
