Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina on Wednesday 5th January 2025 toured three primary schools where deteriorating latrines had posed a serious health hazard to students.
In response to the dire situation, construction of new pit latrines is set to commence this week at:
- Matanya Primary School
- Muchagara Primary School
- Kiyo Primary School
During the visit, Kerra Chairman Mr Anthony Mwaura was the chief guest.
Together with Woman Rep Betty Maina, they officially handed over funds to the schools and their Boards of Governors (BOG) to initiate the much-needed sanitation project.
The residents of Maragua Ridge expressed their gratitude for the intervention, lauding President H.E. Dr. William Ruto’s commitment to improving education infrastructure.
The event was also attended by the County Commissioner, the Sub-County Security team, and the NGAO team.
This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring a safer learning environment for students in Murang’a County.
